Will composite decking stain my walls like timber?

February 12 2014

Unlike Merbau decking as seen in the photos below and other timbers similarly,  Hybrideck composite decking boards do not leech tannins. This makes Plastic wood composite ideal when looking for the right product to put on a second floor balcony or when your deck comes in contact with your swimming pool. As in the photos below this was a brand new 4 unit development that went horribly wrong when Hardwood timber was used as the decking material. There was so much of the are affected the entire project was repainted and the decks replaced with composite decking products.

If your deck area comes in contact with your swimming pool and/ or your deck is over the top of your swimming pool the tannins from your timber deck will leech / fall into your pool causing discolouration to the water and also staining to your pool edge. By using composite deck boards beside the swimming pool you will have no tannins and a maintenance free area that looks good all the time
