Composite decking for a great decking finish in Bendigo, Victoria

May 30 2016

In the following photos Chris from Bendigo showed us how he took an area that was not being used and with the clever use of composite decking he has been able to create a stunning outdoor area. The area Chris had to work with is 40 metres square.  Chris said he was looking for something with minimum maintenance as he was a shift worker and needed a product with the least amount of maintenance. Chris selected Cedar as the his preferred colour and one of the four colours we keep in stock so we have large quantities on hand at short notice.

In these photos you can see how Chris installed his sub floor in treated pine and laid his Hybrideck composite decking in three separate sections. He did this to be able to cover his lengthways distance and not have a ‘butt join’ on display.   In this photo you can also see double and triple joists in the locations that Chris was running a perpendicular composite decking board.

The three sections are split by 2 perpendicular boards  in  the centre and another two Hybrideck composite decking boards on either end framing the three  sections with boards running lengthways along his house. Because Chris’s Garage is set down lower than the height Chris wanted to build his deck Chris has cleverly built a landing and then a step up to his Composite deck at his desired height

The previous photo show Chris’s composite deck started with the edge boards and the perpendicular boards and then the long runs were filled in between. The finished deck below provides an entertaining area that leads straight out from the family room sliding door extending their indoor out door living area
